Special Announcement - Industry Day 2026 - Delaware River, Philadelphia to Sea Beneficial Use of Dredged Material The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District would like to invite dredging industry contractors to Industry Day 2026 for the Delaware River, Philadelphia to Sea Beneficial Use of Dredged Material Project. Project Authorization: The Delaware River, Philadelphia to the Sea deep draft navigation project was originally authorized in House Document (HD) 61-733 as modified by HD 71-304, River and Harbors Committee Document 73-5, Senate Document 75-159, HD 76-580, HD 77-340, HD 83-358 and HD 85-135, and provides for a 45 FEET deep Federal channel in the Delaware River, from the entrance of Delaware Bay to the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia. In order to meet the goals of the Delaware River, Philadelphia to Sea Beneficial Use of Dredged Material Project (Delaware Bayshore), the dredged sand would be beneficially used as beach nourishment along two or more of the following Delaware Bayshore towns of Pickering Beach, Kitts Hummock, Bowers Beach, and Slaughter Beach IAW Section 401 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) 2020 and as generally described in the Chiefs Report dated March 2020 and approved by the chief of Engineers on 6 March 2020.
