Pre-Solicitation W912HY19B0024 The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas Freeport Harbor to Upper Matagorda Bay in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties, Texas Pipeline Dredging. Unrestricted Procurement. THE WORK CONSISTS OF: The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District (SWG) plans to issue a Invitation For Bid to procure work consisting of shallow-draft pipeline dredging of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties with an Option for additional dredging of a section within the GIWW. Contractor should expect and be able to perform dredging operations in strong currents / riverine flows in and around the Brazos River, the Colorado River, San Bernard River and vicinity of GIWW / Caney Creek intersection. In addition to being able to dredge in locations with strong currents / riverine flows contractor must have dredge plant capable of efficient removal of shoals in areas of rapid / high sediment deposition. Sediment composition is primarily silty but contractor should expect to encounter hard-packed sand in vicinity of Caney Creek and Colorado River Crossing. Schedule 1 consists of dredging of approximately fifteen (15) sections within the GIWW between sta 810+200 and sta 901+400. Estimated quantity: 1,445,000 CY.
