ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS-CHICAGO DISTRICT'S NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCLUDE BRAND NAME COMPONENTS FOR A FUTURE CONTRACT FOR THE GARY SANITARY DISTRICT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT GRIT DEWATERING Prescribed at the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) are provisions discussing "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Procedures are herein implemented to satisfy the requirements of such provisions, and are specific to FAR § 6.302-1(c) (1) (i) and (ii) (A) (B) and (C). Accordingly, by this notice, the Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District is satisfying the particular conditions at subparagraphs (d) (2) of said Subsection, relative to acquiring brand name only products or items peculiar to one manufacturer. For the purposes described hereunder, the Chicago District intends to issue a competitive solicitation that will include brand name only items. Therefore, the winning CONSTRUCTION contractor will be required to purchase the brand name items to be compliant with systems already in use/place by the City of Gary, Indiana. The equipment consists of two (2) grit pumps, and two (2) grit washers.
