Within 15 to 30 days from the date that this notice is published, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) anticipates the release of Final Request for Proposals (RFP) DE-SOL-0002084 pertaining to Phase 1 Decommissioning - Facility Disposition activities at DOE's West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) in western New York State. After the Final RFP is released, interested parties will be invited to submit proposals which will be evaluated by DOE. The Final RFP will be released to the public on the West Valley Phase 1 Decommissioning - Facility Disposition procurement web site at http://www.emcbc.doe.gov/WVDP_Phase_1_Decommissioning/. Interested parties should begin checking the procurement web site on a daily basis 15 days from the date of this synopsis to see if the Final RFP has been posted. DOE will not issue another synopsis announcing that the Final RFP has been posted. Final RFP DE-SOL-0002084 is a follow-on to Draft RFP DE-SOL-0002084 which was issued to the public for comments only on August 30, 2010 via the procurement web site. Proposals were not requested from interested parties in response to the Draft RFP. DOE held a pre-solicitation conference, driving tours of the WVDP, and industry one-on-one sessions for interested parties the week of September 13 after the issuance of the Draft RFP and requested that interested parties submit comments pertaining to the Draft RFP by September 22, 2010.
