The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Far East, PWD Sasebo, is issuing this pre-solicitation notice in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED WORK: This project will replace an aged and deteriorated underground fire protection pipeline at Harioshima Ordnance. The ductile iron (DIP) saltwater distribution piping will be replaced with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and installed underground. Associated hydrants, valves and fittings will also be replaced, and pavement restored. The work is carried out in two tracks via two separate contract awards, one (Track-1: Phase 1 through 3) was awarded on 29 June 2018 and one (Track-2: Phases 4 through 8) will be awarded in United States Fiscal Year 2019. Track-2, approximately 9,200 meters long, is currently planned to be solicited around October 2018 and award by December 2018. IAW FAR 36.204 and DFARS 236.204, the magnitude of construction for Repair Fire Protection Pipeline at Hario Shima Ordnance – Track-2 is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000 (between JPY 1,115,938,000 and JPY 2,789,845,000 based on FY 2019 Budget Execution Rate of $1/JPY111.5938).
