Traditional manual measurement devices are prone to significant operator error, fail to capture volumetric dimensions and arch compression under load, and regularly lead to improperly fitted combat footwear. Ill-fitting boots remain a primary driver of preventable sick call visits, cellulitis, severe blister friction, and training pipeline attrition during Basic Combat Training (BCT) and One Station Unit Training (OSUT).
