THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES (RFQ). NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) is issuing an RFI as a means of conducting market research to obtain information from companies with the capability to provide galvanized steel substation structures and lattice towers. There are multiple WAPA sites eligible for delivery of these steel structures located throughout the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. Delivery points for the steel structures will be in surface storage areas adjacent to all-weather roads. The contractor is required to have relevant industry knowledge and experience in fabrication of structural steel components and structures. The contractor must have established fabrication, welding, inspection, galvanizing, quality assurance and quality control shop practices. Engineering and drafting services are required for design and shop drawings. Skilled labor is required for welding, fabrication, and galvanizing. Individual delivery orders vary from single lattice tower pieces, substation equipment supports, platforms, multiple complex substation structures, and complete microwave towers.
