This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions. This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source firm fixed price contract to the following contractor in support of Omnicell Occ Health in support of St. Cloud VA Health Care System, 4801 Veterans Drive, St. Cloud, MN 56303-2015: Omnicell, Inc. UEI: L5KFJWTBJDN5 500 Cranberry Woods Dr. Cranberry Township, PA 16066 This is done under authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1: Only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Market research revealed that Omnicell, Inc. is the sole source factory trained representative for the sale and installation of Omnicell. Omnicell is the only equipment fully compatible with the already installed Omnicell in use at the St. Cloud VA. Medications are stored and tracked manually making it easy for items to be missed or forgotten which is unsafe and can also lead to diversion of medications. The Omnicell tracks medications automatically and allows staff to see what s expiring missing, and to help manage recalls quickly. According to VA directives, high-risk medications are required to be stored in an automated dispensing cabinet for safety and accountability.
